H-hold it! Magicians and spirit mediums are very different! Instead of channeling spirits, magicians perform incredible tricks, like pulling rabbits out of hats or undergarments!

...I get that it's hard to believe, but... I'm pretty sure that we're from two different points in time, Franziska. ...I took her in just months after Iris's trial.

Would you care to explain this inconsistency to me? If I recall the details, then it's only been two months since Iris' trial.

[ This is weird and makes no sense at all. ]

That would be the gist of it, yeah. I don't have any explanation except that CERES just seems to be able to bring people from different points in time.

Just two months? Then you're not far from when it happens. ...And to get to when I came from, you'd need almost another nine years after that. [He glances away for a moment. He's not exactly looking forward to recalling the disbarment saga all over again.

A full nine years....I have a hard time believing that too!

It doesn't matter if I believe what you're saying is true or not. In due time I'll experience these events for myself. Don't think you have the advantage over me just because of that!

[He raises his hands defensively.]

H-hey, I'm not looking for any kinds of advantages or anything! I'm just... letting you know how it is... no matter how hard it may be to believe.

[She doesn't know about the dark age of law yet, woops. ]

Um... thanks, I think? [The most things change, the more they stay the same...]

And you're just as... just as Franziska as ever!

[He says sheepishly as he ocntinues examining the room. But no sign of any further clues yet.]

Is that supposed to be a compliment??

[ She's helping him look through the sand but she doesn't look impressed. Franziska does have a bit of an urge to throw it somewhere. It looks like she found something -- it doesn't seem to be anything horribly important though. ]

[bewrightback]

It's more or less one! Really! [He nervously chuckles. Even though he's been trying not to look directly at Franziska, he does manages to notice that she seems to have noticed something.]

Find something?

It's just a sheet of paper.

Nothing you should concern yourself with since it's blank. I was hoping that it'd have a clue jotted down on it.

[ She sighs in disappointment. ]

A... blank sheet of paper? Well, can I take a look? I think I can use it for something. [Namely, to partly cover himself up.]

Do whatever you wish. This no longer interests me.

[ After handing the sheet of paper to Phoenix she merely shrugs. Then she continues to poke around the sand looking for clues. ]

Um... thanks! [He smiles sheepishly as he takes the paper. And he just... tucks one corner of the paper into his swimsuit, so that it... well, covers his crotch a little more efficiently.]

This castle seems to go on forever!

One little gust of wind won't knock it down.

It's sturdy on the inside too. What would happen if we were to crush this very castle with our own hands?

[ That's probably a bad idea and part two isn't going to happen because of Franziska. ]

W-well... I imagine that the effect would be much like burying our own graves...

If it's going to become anyone's grave then it'll be yours.

[ She still dislikes Phoenix. War never changes...]

Um... Whyyy don't we lean towards no graves, alright?

Fine. As long as this miserable beach doesn't become our grave then it'll turn out the way you want.

There's something like a tunnel here though it's too dark for me to see inside. Care to go in?

[bewrightback]

A tunnel? [He peers around until he spots that tunnel. Although he's mildly bothered by how quickly she volunteered him for the case, he knows he would have volunteered himself anyway. He'd rather risk himself, especially for a younger Franziska.

Still, he rolls his eyes as he moves to take on the task.]

Sure. I'll let you know if it's safe! [So he proceeds ahead into that tunnel!]

Alright. I'll stay here.

Turn back immediately should you run into trouble, fool.

[ Franziska will welcome him back with a whip to the face maybe. This is a better plan than her going in herself. ]

[bewrightback]

Don't you worry about me. [So Phoenix checks out the tunnel, and soon he calls back.]

It looks like there's a light up ahead! This might be the way ou- [Except then there's a rumbling. Phoenix's loudness seems to have caused the tunnel to start collapsing on itself!]

Your foolishly loud and idiotic voice caused the structure to become unsteady.

The light you were seeing better not have been the light of heaven! You did say that you didn't want this place to become your grave. Get a grip, Phoenix Wright. [ Franziska's not exactly helping is she??? rip. ]

[bewrightback]

I- I'm gripping, I swear!! [But the shouting definitely isn't helping.]

...This may sound crazy, but if we make a break for it, we might make it to the exit in time!

Then run as fast as your foolish legs will take you!

The exit's not too far from here.

[ They can get out just fine if all they do is run. Phoenix isn't really lying though, he's right. ]

Running it is!! [And Phoenix doesn't hesitate, immediately sprinting right out to the exit! While sand falls down around him... he hopes that Franziska is faring as well!!]
